Alternative Medicine for Pets
At Eastside Animal Hospital, we work hard to improve your pet’s overall well-being and quality of life. That’s why we provide integrative medicine treatments for pets, including laser therapy and chiropractic care, in addition to our standard wellness services.
What Is Laser Therapy?
Pet laser therapy is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment that helps to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. Here’s how it works: during laser therapy, an intense beam of light is used to penetrate deeply into tissue. This light stimulates the cells in your pet’s body, increasing circulation and prompting a healing response. As a result of this healing response, your pet experiences a reduction in both pain and inflammation. We proudly use the Companion® brand laser, one of the most advanced veterinary tools available, for our laser therapy sessions.
Benefits of Laser Therapy for Pets
Laser therapy has been used to provide relief to pets suffering from a variety of conditions, including:
- Lick granulomas
- Neurological conditions
- Degenerative joint disease
- Sprains, strains, and fractures that don’t require surgery
- Other conditions that result in inflammation
There are many additional benefits that accompany pet laser therapy. Treatments are non-invasive and pain-free. In fact, the penetrating light actually creates a warm, soothing sensation with most pets experiencing immediate pain relief after treatment begins. Therapy sessions are typically short, lasting no longer than a few minutes and cause no known side-effects.
Pet Chiropractor Care
Just as with human chiropractor care, pet chiropractic care involves adjusting the joints using the hands or special instruments. We are pleased to have a veterinarian on staff who is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) to offer this service for our patients. During your pet’s chiropractor exam, we’ll examine their gait and conduct a neurological exam, which helps us determine the best course of treatment. We’ll also discuss their medical history and any previous X-rays or tests.
What Conditions Can Pet Chiropractor Care Treat?

- Post-surgical care
