Dr. Hays grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. After finishing undergraduate school at the University of Arizona, she moved to the Midwest to attend Purdue University School of Medicine. She completed veterinary school in May 1995 and started at Eastside in June 1995. Aspects of veterinary medicine that are of special interest to Dr. Hays include feline and canine geriatric medicine, force-free behavior/training, and integrative methods for pain management and mobility. Most recently, she has completed certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy for dogs and horses and become a member of the College of Animal Chiropractic.
Outside of work, Dr. Hays trains and competes in agility with her own dogs, enjoys flower gardening, birding, crocheting, sewing, and other crafty things. Currently, she and husband Gary have five dogs, seven cats, and one very old rooster.
